About maidav

maidav is a business and finance magazine that brings together entrepreneurship, innovation and wealth building. We write for business owners, for the self-employed and for everyone who wants to understand economic connections and deal with money and investments in a well-founded way.
Our guiding question
Which companies, technologies and developments are shaping the economy, and what do they mean for our money? This question connects every topic in the magazine: from the business model of a craft business to artificial intelligence in mid-sized companies, from how a bond works to what a wallet is.

The distinction is deliberate: under Markets we explain companies and market movements. Under Investments we cover asset classes, their characteristics and different approaches.
A German magazine in English
maidav is published in German at maidav.de and in English at maidav.com. Many articles describe the German and European framework, such as German taxes, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) or EU regulations. We make that context explicit so that international readers can follow it.
How we work
We would rather explain thoroughly than quickly. Every article names its sources, its publication date and the date it was last checked. Figures and worked examples come with their assumptions, and opportunities and risks belong together. We give no buy or sell recommendations and no price forecasts. You can read how we handle this in detail in our editorial standards.
Interactive
Many topics come with a tool to do the maths yourself: the Liquidity Reserve Calculator, the Break-even Calculator, the Purchasing Power Calculator, the Compound Interest Calculator and the Business Glossary. All calculations run in your browser, and nothing is transmitted.
Authors
